US Budget Talks Are Impeded And New Shutdown Threat Is on the Air

Government shutdown is not happening for the first time in the history of the United States of America! The US Government’s appropriations process had hit the scenario back in 1976 and since then, there have been total twenty two funding gaps in the federal budget and among them, ten gaps were almost likely to leave the federal employees furloughed.

However, the hint of another shutdown in 2019 itself has snarled through a number of discussions among the bureaucrats and the common folks alike. A funding gap period that grounds a partial as well as full shutdown of federal government agencies is definitely a matter of concern. They generally take place when there is a botch or cockup to permit a funding legislation to endow the Government for its next fiscal year or, in case, there is any discrepancy over a recommended bill within the US Government.

This time, the talks on the US budget have hit another deadlock over immigration. According to a Republic negotiator, it has not only mounted up the prospect of a government shutdown, but has also forecasted an economic imbalance in the country. Thus, it’s really important for the States to come to an agreement by this week’s deadline. Especially the comment of Richard Shelby, the chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, stating “the talks are stalled right now” has reared even more concerns.

However, the negotiators had been quite positive and expectant. As per them, a covenant would definitely be taken by Friday that would consist of some funds for a border ‘barrier’. In this context, Shelby has ended up blaming Democrats for the latest holdups. The fact that they wanted to limit the number of beds at immigration custody centers has spurred the cause to a certain extent. Denoting Immigration and Customs Enforcement, he has pointed out Democrats as incapable of dealing with ICE.

Even Trump arranged for a rally of supporters on the Texas border at El Paso and according to him, Democratic negotiators were severely restricted by their party governance. Their feat of offering a little amount of money for the much-needed Border Wall and wanting a cap for the condemned felons to be held in custody has been alluded as utter baseless.

“I actually believe they want a Shutdown. They want a new subject!” Trump said. He has added that he is still very much hopeful that they would come to an agreement really soon.
