On Monday, N26, the European mobile banking service launched N26 Metal premium MasterCard-affiliated credit card to fulfill the needs of digital customers at TechCrunch Disrupt held in Berlin. The new NFC-enabled card will be rolled out from December 14.
Customers with N26 Black in Germany, Italy, France, and Austria will be eligible for upgrading to N26 Metal, which has a tungsten metal core.
N26 Metal, which is a premium MasterCard credit card costs around 71 euros a year.
The company said that the card provides dedicated customer service, zero foreign withdrawal fees, global travel insurance, and excellent exchange rates.
As compared to the U.S. credit card companies, these perks are not something exceptional. But, in Europe, these perks are still special with lower interchange fees charged in some regions.
N26 highlighted it provides exclusive partner programs to its customers that cater “to the needs of digital customers who expect easy on-demand access to the products and services they enjoy.”
N26 Metal is the first metal credit card in the Europe with support for contactless payments.
In addition, the mobile banking service company partnered with WeWork, a real estate startup. With N26 Metal, customers can participate in WeWork Network, and avail discounts while booking conference rooms and workplaces.
Commenting on the partnership with WeWork and the launch of new credit card, N26 CEO Valentin Stalf, said at the conference, “It’s fitting with the lifestyle that we are aiming for — and that of our customers,”.
