Tim Cook, CEO of Apple Inc., launched iPhone X on the tenth anniversary of its first iPhone release. The Cupertino-headquartered tech giant believes that its first phone became a trailblazer, iPhone X would set a roadmap for next decade. The device is the most expensive in the iPhone’s history.
The design of this tenth edition anniversary phone has undergone a transformation. Thin bezels surround the screen along with a thin ‘chin’ on the front edge. The phone looks entirely different than its predecessors in the absence of iPhone’s iconic home button and Touch ID sensor. The bezel-less design replaces the home button and Face ID, which has array of sensors in that ‘chin’ on front edge replaces Touch ID sensor. The device is equipped with an Infrared Camera, Dot Projector, and a Flood Illuminator to construct a 3D model of a face. This eliminates the possibility of defraud using a picture or a mask.
The iPhone X has a 5.8-inch screen equipped with OLED technology. Apple offers wide color support, color accuracy, and brightness level it desired with the help of OLED technology. The super retina display marks a resounding uptick on expectations with specifications: 1125×2436 pixels, HDR10, Dolby Vision, and True Tone. Moreover, it offers 458ppi screen and a one million-to-one contrast ratio to offer a crisp display.
One of the innovative features of iPhone X is Animoji. This feature helps users to send emoji which takes face and voice of a user.
The iPhone X, pronounced as iPhone 10, has better cameras compared to its predecessors. It has 12 megapixel rear camera with Quad-LED True Tone flash and 7 megapixel front camera. Moreover, it is equipped with the A11 Bionic SoC chip, the fastest ever chip on paper. Other features include dust and water resistance, wireless charging, and fast-charge capabilities.
Apple stated that the phone would make a wave by defining the future of smartphone.
